Maryland National Guard welcomes home 200 members from the Middle East

ABERDEEN, Md. — WBFF — The Maryland National Guard hosted a Freedom Salute Ceremony to officially welcome home 200 members of the headquarters element of the 29th Combat Aviation Brigaded and members of B Company 3-126th Aviation and F Company 1-111th Aviation Regiment from their deployment to the Middle East.

The soldiers were deployed for nine months and they provided full spectrum aviation support in ongoing conmbat operations.

The headquarters element of the 29th C.A.B. reportedly supported more than 2,200 soldiers from multiple aviation units spanning more than a dozen states to 17 locations across in Iraq, Syria, Jordon, Turkey, and Kuwait. B Co. 3-126th Aviation was deployed to locations in Afghanistan in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel.

The Freedom Salute Campaign is reportedly one of the largest Army National Guard welcome home endeavors in history.
