Chelsea transfer news LIVE: Man Utd swap deal, Kepa, Courtois, Kovacic latest

United-Chelsea swap deal

United may have to cough up one of their players to Chelsea if they want to sign to Kurt Zouma, according to reports.

French newspaper L’Equipe claim the clubs are in talks with the Blues after moves for Leicester’s Harry Maguire and Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld stalled.

However, according to Daily Telegraph journalist Matt Law, Chelsea will ask United for striker Anthony Martial as part of any potential deal.

He tweeted: “Big if right now but IF Manchester United have shown an interest in Zouma as reported in France then I am 100 per cent sure Chelsea would ask on Martial…”

Kepa and Courtois confirmed

Chelsea completed the world-record £71.6m signing of Kepa Arrizabalaga from Athletic Bilbao last night.

The Spain international has put pen to paper on a mega SEVEN-year contract which will keep him at Stamford Bridge beyond his 30th birthday.

Kepa comes in to replace Real Madrid-bound Thibaut Courtois, for whom Chelsea have agreed a £35m fee with the La Liga giants.

Both players are expecetd to be revealed to the media today.

Chelsea to sign Vecino?

Sky Sports pundit Dharmesh Sheth believes Chelsea could potentially sign Matias Vecino today.

The Blues have hours left to complete their business with the transfer window slamming shut at 5pm.

Sheth understands that new Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is a fan of Inter Milan midfielder Matias Vecino, who he worked at Empoli.

Vecino would cost more than £30million but he could be a shock late arrival if Danny Drinkwater and Tiemoue Bakayoko, who has been linked with Everton, are allowed to leave.

Kovacic announcement

Mateo Kovacic had his Chelsea medical yesterday after an agreement was reached with Real Madrid over a loan move.

An announcement is expected today to confirm a 12-month switch.

The 24-year-old has become frustrated with life at Real Madrid after starting just 37 games in La Liga in the past three seasons.

His arrival should see the departure of Danny Drinkwater, who may join West Ham.

Daniele Rugani bid

Chelsea made an ‘unthinkable’ offer to sign Juventus star Daniele Rugani..

Rugani’s agent, Davide Torchia, has revealed that Juventus were able to resist the Blues despite their mammoth offer.

“Chelsea made a really big bid, which was close to being unthinkable for me, but Juventus didn’t relent,” he said.

“However, the player has never asked to leave.

“Juventus have no desire to sell him, not even for a high price which, among other things, no-one in Italy could afford.”

Zouma talks

Manchester United are reportedly speaking to Chelsea about a surprise deal for Kurt Zouma.

United are desperate to add a centre-back to their squad before the transfer window slams shut on Thursday.

And French outlet L’Equipe claim they are hoping to secure a deadline-busting move for Zouma.

Jose Mourinho has turned to Zouma after growing frustrated in his pursuit of prime target Toby Alderweireld.

Harry Maguire and Yerry Mina have been talked of as alternatives but may prove too expensive due to price tag and agents fee respectively.
